But what we know, beyond any doubt, is that Geoff was important to StarCraft. We’d like to believe that StarCraft was important to Geoff. Beginning on October 22, 2019, Geoff’s Announcer Pack, Portrait, and some additional items we’re creating in his honor-will be granted to every player on log-in, for free, forever. (Understatement.) The StarCraft team wanted to do something permanent to commemorate him in-game. Here at Blizzard, there are a lot of Geoff “iNcontroL” Robinson fans. In StarCraft, no matter where you looked, you found Geoff, and the community was better for it. He shoutcasted major tournaments, demonstrating deep game knowledge, passion, and a preternatural ability to find the hilarity in any situation. He hosted podcasts like State of the Game and, more recently, The Pylon Show, which he co-founded. As a player, he found success as early as 2007, when he won the national WCG Championship, catapulting him into a long and storied competitive career. While coaching a player who wants to go pro they most likely already have very high game knowledge but more then just game knowledge they also need help with improving mentally, efficiency of their practice and pointing out little things that they have missed in their play that they can improve. This makes the player improve way faster.Īlmost any coach I have heard coaching on twitch in sc2 is giving pointers to low league players explain things in such a way that they know what to do but they don't understand why a lot of the time which is really really bad. To coach players typically those at lower leagues if you want rapid improvement you need to make them understand how the game works and help them see the bigger picture which in turn will make them automatically understand what are good or bad decisions and what is logical. If you want a fun interaction with some famous personalities in sc2 and your wallet can take it sure go ahead its a fun experience but it isn't worth the money. Same if you have an ambition to go pro don't waste your money you need a real coach. If you have no ambition to go pro don't waste your money on coaching from pro streamers, it is a waste of money. Which sure will help you a little bit but in terms of what you are paying these people you are getting robbed. #16 What the majority of people consider coaching is not really coaching, they are giving you pointers and maybe some build orders.
