Sigmas nationwide knew of President Hastings sons death and wanted to know what the women of Tri Sigma could do to help. The Zeta Pi chapter established Sigma's For CF in support of Sister Morgan Eller. The hospital was established in 1961 as a three-story, 88-bed hospital, where every child would be treated equally, regardless of their financial circumstances. Tri Sigma adopted the Robbie Page Memorial as its official philanthropy in 1954. This prompted Robbie's parents, Robert and Mary Hasting Holloway Page, to establish a memorial fund in honor of their son. At that time, there was no cure or prevention for polio.
